CHS Booster Club/Cheshire Herald Athletes of the Week

Congrats to the Cheshire High School Booster Club/The Cheshire Herald Athletes of the Week: senior Marli Green (girls' volleyball), senior Eric Dishnica (boys' soccer), and CHS cross country!

(Girls' Volleyball) Green is a tri-captain with classmates Lauren Carbone and Katelyn Morley.

In a 3-0 sweep (25-12, 25-13, 27-25) on Sept. 22 at Sheehan, Green posted 11 kills, two blocks, two aces, and two digs. With a 3-0 sweep (25-20, 25-9, 25-18) last Friday at Foran, CHS has won four straight matches. They are 5-1 (2-0 in Housatonic Division).

(Boys' Soccer) On Sept. 21, Dishnica recorded his first hat trick in a 5-0 shutout of Amity. Last Friday, he added two more goals in the first half of a 6-2 win over Jonathan Law.

The Rams (6-0, 3-0) have matched the start of the 2007 team.

(Cross Country) n Sept. 24, Cheshire boys (20-39) and girls (23-32) both defeated host Daniel Hand at the Surf Club in Madison. Sophomores Brendan Murray (boys, 16:10) and Lauren Daddi (girls, 19:43) were the individual winners. wo days later, CHS excelled in the Bethel Invite. Cheshire girls compiled 23 points and the boys garnered 39. Daddi (21:11) and Murray (16:32) both won championships.

In the Junior Varsity girls' race, senior tri-captain Lauren Votto also came in first place (23:18).

Cheshire girls (7-0) and boys (6-1) are both 2-0 in the Housatonic.
